We are deeply saddened to share that our dear friend, the legendary Jack Douglas, passed away peacefully last night surrounded by his family.
We first had the honor of meeting Jack in 2023 when he visited us for an in-store event with Robin Taylor Zander. Jack was the driving force behind Robin’s solo album on his label, and having them both at the shop was a day we will never forget.
Beyond the towering resume and the iconic records he produced, Jack was one of the most kind-hearted and soft-spoken souls we’ve ever had the pleasure of hosting. He spent his time at Loud Pizza Records sharing stories about the albums he worked on—moments of music history told with such humility and warmth.
Shortly after his visit, we were moved to see him featured in the John Lennon documentary, reflecting on his time as the producer of Double Fantasy and being the last person to work alongside John. It was a stark reminder of the gravity of his contribution to the soundtrack of our lives.
We love you, Jack. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones. Your kindness stayed with us, and your work will undoubtedly continue to influence and inspire for decades to come.
