DESCRIPTION :
The Mission formed in 1986 with former Sisters of Mercy members Wayne Hussey and bassist Craig Adams, soon joined by guitarist Simon Hinkler. All three are in today’s line-up, marking nearly 40 years since the release of their debut album God’s Own Medicine.
After a couple of EPs, the band signed a seven-album deal with Phonogram in July 1986. God’s Own Medicine was recorded in six weeks with producer Tim Palmer, known to Hussey from his Dead or Alive days.
The album reached #14 and helped The Mission carve out their own identity. It includes enduring favourites Wasteland, a #11 hit, plus Top 30 singles Severina, featuring All About Eve’s Julianne Regan, and Stay With Me. This edition restores the correct title and artwork, original Wayne Hussey sequencing, and the full-length Love Me To Death, never before on vinyl in full.
