For well over a decade the group has stood at the frontlines of advocacy, communication, and change, shaping songs in reaction to headlines, news pieces, and current events around intersectional communities with the intention of raising awareness and conveying a response based in humanity rather than division. Combined with the band's raucous hardcore that thrashes and bellows guttural screams of frustration, War On Women's latest offering, Time Under Tension, takes the band in a direction off the expected course, yet it is their most emotionally charged record to date.
Time Under Tension finds fluidity and inspiration from both the personally mundane and politically insane, dissecting the impact of the outside world on one's inside world, how our perspectives can alter our perception of the world, and what that interpersonal relationship with the outside looks like.
