DESCRIPTION :
On 12 August 1989, The Stone Roses stepped onto the stage of Blackpool's legendary Empress Ballroom and delivered a performance that has since become one of the defining live moments in British music. Just weeks after the release of their landmark debut album, the band were on the brink of national superstardom, and this unforgettable concert captured them at the precise moment everything changed.
Playing to an overheated crowd of more than 4,000 ecstatic fans for the princely sum of £6 a ticket, the Empress Ballroom was transformed into a sweltering psychedelic sweatbox. Beach balls bounced across the audience while the band threw ice pops into the front rows before launching into a set that perfectly distilled the optimism, swagger and hypnotic groove of the era.
Featuring stunning live performances of classics including I Wanna Be Adored, Elephant Stone, Waterfall, Made of Stone, She Bangs the Drums, and the epic 13-minute finale, I Am the Resurrection, this release captures the atmosphere and energy of one of the band's most celebrated performances.
More than three decades later, the Blackpool show remains a landmark in The Stone Roses' story - a night when an already devoted following witnessed a band becoming legends in real time.
