ALBUM FACTS :
DESCRIPTION :
Oleander made their major-label breakthrough with February Son in 1999, a record that became a defining point in the Sacramento band’s nine-year run. It earned Gold certification and pushed them into the mainstream, with a high-profile slot at Woodstock ’99 sealing their place in late-’90s alternative rock.
It is easy to hear why this was the one that connected. February Son balances post-grunge force with sharp melodic hooks and emotionally direct songwriting, giving Oleander their most successful material. The single Why I’m Here reached a wide audience through Dawson’s Creek, while the band’s music also appeared in American Pie and Scary Movie.
This edition marks the first time February Son has been available on vinyl and includes an insert with song lyrics. Further singles from the album were I Walk Alone and Why I’m here.
