McCreary has shaped the emotional core of Outlander with his signature blend of Celtic instrumentation, sweeping orchestral themes and inventive musical storytelling. Included within the series’ musical blueprint is its main title theme, “The Skye Boat Song,” which has evolved each season to reflect the show’s shifting time periods and geographical locations. This tradition now continues into Season 8, with McCreary enlisting the talents of Annie Lennox to capture the gravity and poignancy of the story’s final chapter.
