50th Anniversary Reissue - The long-lost debut from obscured singer-songwriter Bob Hughes. One of the rarest private-press folk records of the British ‘70s underground.
With only two guitars and vocals, ‘My Old Man’ was quickly recorded in August 1976 at Spaceward Studios in Victoria Street in Cambridge. “It was a very basic place,” comments lead guitarist Ron Turner. The recording budget was even more basic and the focus was on first takes. “A mistake meant money,” says Ron. An album that spells authenticity in so many words. These are original songs that were privately pressed and soon became a sought-after collectors item.
