1990's The Geto Boys which features hip-hop's version of the Beatles Let It Be cover, but with mug shots of Bushwick Bill, Willie D, Scarface and DJ Ready Red, includes ample remixes by Rick Rubin of tracks from the group's second album Grip It! On That Other Level, released just the year prior.
Such controversial anthems as “Mind of a Lunatic,” “Do It Like a G.O.” and the Lynyrd Skynyrd "Sweet Home Alabama"-sampling “Gangster of Love” caused the record's distributor Geffen Records to pull out and the album was eventually released by Warner Bros. Records.
"They were as angry and rebellious as N.W.A., as politically astute as Public Enemy, and had more salacious sex rhymes than 2 Live Crew, yet had their own soulful, southern edge, caustic wit, and an uncanny knack for melody and musicianship that set them apart from the pack." - DigBoston
